Description

With this directional antenna you can increase the detection distance up to 4 times. It is ideal for detecting hidden GPS locators in vehicles as well as spy cameras and microphones.

The new Protect 1207i is a counter-espionage device that reliably detects various digital transmissions such as GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.

The sensitivity of a common RF detector extends over a wide range of frequencies, usually 3, or even 6-7 GHz. This means that the traditional detector cannot detect weak, non-continuous signals such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Wi-Max . Even stronger signals such as GSM 1800 are also difficult to detect due to their low sensitivity in higher frequency ranges. The only way to reliably detect wireless protocols is by using pre-selection chips (sawtooth filters) that attenuate all signals except the desired frequencies.

This is the method implemented in the Protect 1207i countermeasure device which has 6 channels for different frequency ranges and can simultaneously detect 6 different types of transmissions at a much greater distance than any common RF detector.

These qualities make the Protect 1207i frequency detector a very desirable and reliable device during surveillance sweeps.

Key Features of the iProtect 1207i Frequency Detector

  • Portable device for inspection and location of wireless sources (Wi-Fi finder, GPS Tracker detector, GSM / 3G, 4G detector, Bluetooth detector - all in one)
  • Ideal for detecting hidden GPS locators in vehicles
  • 6 detection channels for different types of protocols
  • GSM/CDMA/3G/4G-LTE/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/Wi-Max detection
  • The channels operate simultaneously, so the operator knows what has been found.
  • Locate devices that transmit regularly and in bursts, such as GPS trackers.
  • 6 bar graphs with 10 segments each, for precise localization of RF sources
  • 4 modes: Silent, Vibration, Visual and Sound
  • 2 sensitivity levels (dimmer)
  • The additional screen shows the probable protocol
  • Durable metal body
  • Microprocessor controlled
  • Configuration mode with selection of vibration threshold level

Detected Frequencies

  • CDMA, LTE 800 (4G) : 824-849MHZ
  • GSM: 880-920MHZ
  • GSM (DCS): 1710-1790MHZ
  • WCDMA, 3G, gsm (PCS), DECT : 1920-2000MHZ
  • BLUETOOTH, WIFI: 2400-2480MHZ
  • WI-MAX, WIFI HIGH, LTE 4G: 2500-7000MH

How to detect GPS trackers with the Protect 1207i

Signals going from the locator to the GSM/3G mobile network when the vehicle is moving

The Iprotect 1207i frequency detector can locate GPS trackers when they transmit their coordinates. Many trackers have a vibration sensor (G-sensor) and do not send coordinates when the car is not moving. Transmissions can be made at a pre-programmed interval, for example every 15 seconds, 1 minute or 15 minutes. It is also possible for a tracker to upload the collected coordinates upon external request and not initiate transmissions itself. Method 2 is therefore better, although additional equipment is needed.

  1. Make sure your own mobile phones are switched off ("flight mode" on or off) and there are no other phones in the car. If the car has its own GSM/3G phone or an anti-theft alarm system, it is necessary to disable the phone or alarm system by taking out its SIM card temporarily.
  2. Position the iProtect 1207i at the front of the vehicle and start moving. If possible, select a route away from crowded cities to avoid accidental measurements of GSM/3G signals from other people's mobile phones.
  3. View the GSM and 3G bar graphs on the iProtect 1207i. Typical periodic increases can be a sign that the tracker is sending signals to the network. As we said above, it is unknown what interval can be pre-programmed into the tracker, but it should be the same during measurement. Therefore, if you see increases in the bar graph with a fixed interval, It could be a sign of the presence of a hidden GPS tracker in your vehicle.
  4. The vehicle must be in motion during measurements. For a “quick” detection 30 minutes of testing may be sufficient; for a “deep search” 1-2 hours will be needed.
  5. Repeat the procedure with the Protect 1207i placed in a rear part of the car, since it is unknown in which part of the vehicle the tracker may be hidden.
